Among the hills of Abruzzo, in the province of Chieti, lies one of the richest and best known vineyards in the region: Masciarelli Tenute Agricole.

The wine that Masciarelli has been producing since 1981, the year when – thanks to the intuition of Gianni Masciarelli – the vineyard was founded, is now known nationally and internationally.

This year, on the occasion of the celebration of the forty years of activity of the business, it was right to celebrate.

How? With art.

That’s how Masciarelli Art Project was born. Thanks to the will of the family, in particular in the people of Marina Cvetic, wife of Gianni, and Miriam Lee, the daughter.

The project, which is an artistic residence, will host Job Smeets as its first guest.

A multifaceted and original artist, in 1998 he founded Studio Job, which combines art and design in the name of a dreamlike spirit. Smeets’ career studded with successes and awards from art to architecture.

The Abruzzese winery is ready to welcome him and the house prepared will be the Semivicoli’s Castle ,already an accommodation facility for several years. The result of his experience will be visible in October 2021 on the occasion of a dedicated event.

This edition of the Masciarelli Art Project is only the first, others will follow with different artists. A long-term project that celebrates a product – wine – which in itself is a work of art.
