From 20 May to 4 June 2023 will be in progress in Padova and other twelve municipalities of the Province the third edition of Super Walls, the street art Biennale, which celebrates street art as a medium for urban landscape valorization. The artists involved in the event are thirty-one, coming from different parts of Italy and Europe, among which the students from the Liceo Artistico A. Modigliani in Padova. Since the ’80s, this form of expression has identified the city’s art scene, involving names that have become known nationally over time, like Kenny Random and Tony Gallo.

The topic chosen for this edition of Super Walls is respect, declined on the basis of each artist’s sensibility: numerous works with references to environment protection, gender respect, childhood and diversity of ideas. Furthermore, the theme of sports fair-play proved to be central in this edition, also because of the nominee of Padova as European Sport City of 2023. For this occasion, numerous walls in sports facilities were made available in the city and in the Province, and have become theatre of different works. 

Starting with the first edition in 2019, the Biennale of Street Art has grown significantly, involving more and more municipalities of the Province and picking up growing support over the years, both from companies and citizens, and from institutions and associations. “A transversal involvement which demonstrates how this form of art is appreciated by audiences of all ages and is becoming an integral part of the urban spaces aesthetics”, as affirmed by Carlo Sivestrin, co-curator of the Biennale di Street Art together with the art critic Dominique Stella.

Particular attention has been given to the realization of the work by Liceo Artistico Modigliani students, who painted a facade of their own school with graffiti developed with the help of artificial intelligence.
